Effective Date: 06 October 2025
1. Policy Statement

Dale McLean Training is committed to creating and maintaining a positive learning and working environment where equality, diversity, and inclusion are actively promoted.

We recognise and value the diverse backgrounds of our learners, staff, and partners and are committed to ensuring that all individuals are treated fairly, with dignity and respect.

Discrimination, harassment, or victimisation of any kind will not be tolerated and will be investigated promptly and sensitively in accordance with this policy.

We operate in partnership with BODYCORE Training Ltd, who deliver and certify some of our qualifications, and this policy applies equally across all courses and delivery environments.

2. Legal Framework and Protected Characteristics

This policy complies with the Equality Act 2010 and applies to all learners, staff, assessors, mentors, and employers working with Dale McLean Training.

  • Avoid any form of discrimination, bullying, or harassment.

  • Challenge discriminatory behaviour or language where safe to do so.

  • Report any incidents or concerns following the process below.

Discrimination can occur not only through direct unfair treatment, but also through association (e.g., treating someone unfairly because they associate with a protected group) or perception (e.g., assuming someone has a protected characteristic when they do not).

5. Where You Encounter Discrimination

If you believe you have experienced or witnessed discrimination, harassment, or victimisation:

  1. Speak directly to the person involved (if appropriate and safe to do so) and make it clear their behaviour is unacceptable.

  2. If the issue continues or is too serious to handle informally, report it immediately to your tutor, assessor, or PT Mentor.

  3. If the individual concerned is part of your complaint, or if you feel uncomfortable reporting to them, contact the Internal Verifier or Lead Assessor directly at: dale@bodycorehq.com

  4. A formal investigation will be undertaken, and you will be informed of the outcome and any actions taken.

  5. If you are dissatisfied with the outcome, you may appeal the decision in writing within five working days to Dale McLean, who will review the case and issue a final decision.

6. Training and Awareness

  • All staff and assessors are required to read, understand, and adhere to this policy.

  • Equality and diversity principles are embedded in all aspects of course delivery, assessment, and learner support.

  • Dale McLean Training ensures that tutors, assessors, and mentors complete regular equality and safeguarding updates as part of their continuing professional development.

7. Monitoring and Review

Dale McLean Training monitors compliance with this policy through learner feedback, staff reviews, and quality assurance checks.

Findings are discussed with BODYCORE as part of the ongoing quality improvement strategy.

This policy will be reviewed annually or sooner if required by legislative or organisational changes.
