Paediatric First Aid Course
Essential first aid training for anyone caring for babies and children.
Our Paediatric First Aid Blended Course equips you with the essential life-saving skills and confidence to respond to medical emergencies involving infants and children.
This course meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and is ideal for anyone working in nurseries, preschools, schools, or as a registered childminder.
What you will learn:

The role and responsibilities of a paediatric first aider.

Managing an emergency using the Primary and Secondary Survey for infants and children.

Placing an infant or child in the recovery position.
-
Performing CPR and safe use of a defibrillator (AED) on infants and children.
-
Choking management for babies and children.
-
Managing bleeding and wounds, including minor cuts, grazes, and severe bleeding.
-
Providing first aid for fractures, sprains, strains, and dislocations, including head, neck, and back injuries.

Treating burns and scalds.
-
Recognising and treating shock.
-
Managing medical conditions, including asthma, seizures, diabetes, and febrile convulsions.

Recognising and treating allergic reactions and anaphylaxis.

Managing eye injuries, nosebleeds, and embedded objects.
-
Recognising and responding to sepsis, meningitis, and dehydration.
-
Understanding infection control, first aid kits, and hygiene procedures.

Recording and reporting accidents, incidents, and injuries in line with statutory requirements.
